How do I stop my Mac from switching to the wrong microphone?
Put your microphones in priority order in Roadie. Whenever the connected device set changes or macOS selects an unwanted mic, Roadie chooses the highest-ranked connected microphone.
Can Roadie switch both microphone input and speaker output?
Yes. Roadie manages separate priority lists for the Mac's default input and output devices, including microphone and speaker or headphone choices.
Does Roadie work with AirPods, Bluetooth headphones, and USB microphones?
Yes. Roadie works with audio devices exposed by macOS and gives Bluetooth devices extra settling time to avoid unnecessary switches while they reconnect.
What if I choose an audio device manually?
Your manual choice wins. Roadie remembers it until the set of connected audio devices changes, and automatic switching can be paused at any time.
Does Roadie need microphone permission or internet access?
Roadie never records or processes audio and needs no microphone permission. It connects only to start and verify the trial and to activate or validate a Dodo Payments license. Your routing rules and audio device names stay on your Mac. A successfully verified entitlement has a 24-hour offline grace. That grace needs the Mac to stay awake or asleep, not rebooted: after a restart Roadie must reach the internet once before routing resumes, because it can no longer tell a restart from a rolled-back clock.
Which Macs and macOS versions does Roadie support?
Roadie requires macOS 13 or later. The current universal build supports both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
What does Roadie cost, and what happens after the trial?
The full trial lasts 7 days. After that, Roadie hard-blocks automatic routing but keeps your settings. A $9.99 one-time license restores routing on up to 3 Macs, with a 24-hour offline grace after successful validation.
What happens if another app keeps changing the audio device?
Roadie stops after three correction attempts and tells you instead of getting stuck in an infinite switching loop.
Why does my browser or Zoom use a different microphone than Roadie shows?
Roadie sets the Mac's system default. Meet, Zoom, Teams and similar apps can pick a specific device that bypasses that default, and then Roadie neither sees the change nor fights it. Choose "Default" or "Same as System" in the app's audio menu and it follows Roadie.
